10/19/10 For the sixth time in a year, Johnson & Johnson is recalling bottles of its Tylenol pain reliever because of a moldy odor that has been linked to consumer complaints of nausea and vomiting.
This latest recall affects 50-count bottles of Tylenol 8 Hour Caplets. Check the side of the bottle label for the lot number BCM155 and the UPC code 3 0045-0297-51 8.
The company advises people who have purchased this product to stop using it and to contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare at www.tylenol.com or through their toll-free phone number 888-222-6036 for a refund or product coupon.
In an interview, Marc Boston, a company spokesman, said that the lot of recalled Tylenol 8 Hour had been produced after the company had taken steps to eliminate a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole, or TBA, from its production process. Those steps included no longer using wooden pallets treated with TBA to transport its medications and a new “rigorous cleaning protocol.”
He said the company was still investigating how this new lot could have become tainted. Boston also said “no other lots containing TBA have been identified to date.”

are not the generic brands made by the same companies.
I trusted Tylenol for decades. No more!
But taking the time-release form of acetaminophen 3 times a day helps cover my pain from fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, so I'm glad there's no monopoly like there soon will be for colchcine.
