Taking Charge of Your Health
By the time you go to college, get a job and live on your own, you’ll need to be able to handle most of your healthcare yourself. That means scheduling doctor appointments, calling in prescriptions, talking to doctors, maintaining your health insurance—and the list goes on.
When you have JA, learning to handle your healthcare is a part of the transition to independence. In a sense, you go from being a player on your health team to being the captain. Get comfortable with new responsibilities one by one and eventually, you’ll be celebrating your own personal independence day.
