When I started 5th grade, kids made fun of me because I didn't do well in gym. I was afraid to tell anyone about my JA, because I didn't think they would understand and treat me like I couldn't do anything. Finally, close to the end of the year, I decided I was tired of being made fun of so I talked to my teacher about letting me do a power point on arthritis. She told me that I could and I made a power point about living with arthritis, how it works, and how it affects me. Everyone in my class understood me and stopped making fun of me! Now every time I meet someone new I make sure to tell them about my arthritis.
