Emma S.
My name is Emma. I was diagnosed when I was 11 months old with (JRA), now I'm 11 years old with a longstanding history of Systemic Onset Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
I had been on multiples medicines. I have severe destruction on my hips and mild changes in other joints. Although my hips have severe destruction, I'm able to walk without pain but I get tired when I walk or I stand up for long periods. When I reach 14 or 15 years I’m going to have a hips replacement surgery.
Four years ago I got the G-Tube to help with my growth because my growth has been slower. Recently my Doctor decided to stop using the G-tube to see if I can grow on my own and I have been gaining weight and height without using it and I'm so happy for that.
I'm a happy girl, I feel blessed to have my family and my friends that support me all the time.
I wish no child ever be in pain and that people learn more about (JIA) and that everyone can support to help and find a cure.
