I'm 16 and I have had juvenile arthritis (JA) since I was 2. Believe it or not my biggest fear has been enduring the needles and bloodwork. I have gotten used to all the limitations, but the hardest is not being able to play sports. I love basketball and volleyball. I would really love to join a team. I still do a lot though.
I used to have to be on homebound for school, but now I'm in cyber school, which makes me feel more normal instead of like an outcast. That is my biggest triumph, because I love school and I know an education is important. I want to be a journalist someday. Hopefully I can succeed in that.
I've tried not to let my JA limit me. If I come across a task that looks too difficult, I always try to look for a way to complete it. There are a lot of mottos I like to think of when I'm having problems with my arthritis. Some are: No Boundaries (song by Kris Allen), Things Are Gonna Get Better and Complain (songs by David Archuleta). Sometimes I listen to those songs to make my emotional stress better.
A little about me. I love Kris Allen, he's my favorite singer :) I also love my animals. I have 3 cats and 1 dog. I have 1 older brother. All I can say is...ugh. lol! I love helping other people and I also love to have fun.
