Will I Outgrow It?

There is no cure for juvenile arthritis, and it won't go away just because you get older. But it is possible to help you feel better and make sure your joints don’t hurt anymore.

Your doctor can do this by giving you medicines and exercises that ease pain and swelling at your joints. This will make it much easier for you to move around and do the things you want to do. Treatments can also help with rashes, fevers and those strange bumps under your skin.

You may even feel like you don’t have arthritis at all anymore! But don’t stop taking your medicines just because you feel so well. Only your doctor should decide if you can stop your medicine.

Sometimes symptoms do disappear for a long time. If that happens, a doctor may decide you are in remission. Not everyone goes into remission. But the right treatment can help all kids with juvenile arthritis feel better.
