Walk With Ease

Take control one step at a time

No matter if you need relief from arthritis pain or just want to be active, the newly updated Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease program can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life.  Walk With Ease offers support, information and tools to help you succeed and is designed for people with arthritis and other chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension.

Based on research and tested programs in exercise science, behavior change and arthritis management, Walk With Ease is shown to:

  • Reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis
  • Increase balance, strength and walking pace
  • Build confidence in your ability to be physically active
  • Improve overall health

The Walk with Ease program is available to complete on your own with the purchase of the guide book , or in a group in your local community.

To Complete the Program on Your Own

To Complete the Program with a Group
A six week series led by a certified leader

I have pain in my heel in the morning and after I sit for a while. I think it is due to my uncontrolled diabetes state. I am a newly diagnosed patient. I want to walk but when I do I feel pain afterwards. What do you suggest?

I am in the Chicago area (South side) and would like to find a group to start this program. I'm a beginner at walking because of a new injury and arthritis is in full effect so I need beginners. I hear the pain will only get worse! HELP

Ihave been diagnosed with severe arthritis in my knees,can anyone tell me the best pain relief to take,as I would still like to keep walking if possible, also is cycling a good exercise for my knees.

I am 56 and now have developed arthritis from degenearative disc disease in my lower back, neck, shoulder, knees, and hands. I've been given ansaids, for pain. nothing will help. My dr. says it will only get worst. What can i do to help myself. In constant pain.

just starting to have the pains and show signs of "A" especially left foot

Also just got a bicycle
is there guides to bicycling with "A"

I work with Senior Citizens in Sussex County, Delaware. I have been trained in the Diabetic Self management and the chronic disease self management program. How can I go about being trained for the Walk With Ease Program?
