I would appreciate the name of the electric veggie peeler, or a source to buy it.

For steak - I like Oxo serrated knives. It may be awkward, but an electric knife may help?

Another thing to consider is that sharp knives are easier & safer than dull knives. If you haven't had them sharpened in awhile, that may help.

SUsan-For years I used a hand held Swingaway manual can opener. Enter hand arthritis, I can no longer use the can opener. I hate electric ones, bought one, it quickly broke. I had DH buy me an old wall mount seingaway handle crank can opener (I've read on blogs that the newer ones are now made in China and are garbage) A quick SOS clean up, this works like a charm. The handle crank doesn't hurt my hands like the other manual swingaway. Check EBAY. HTH

I have found 2 kitchen item's that have helped me function in the kitchen despite my extreme hand pain.
The first is a Black and Decker jar/lid opener. It will open every thing from a large juice bottleto a very small jelly jar.

The second item is a battery operated vegetable peeler. All it's all I have to do is hold the vegetable and run the peeler across it and the skin comes right off.

If anyone can recommend a can opener that is easy to use, I would appreciate a recommendation.

Slicing bagels.....I cut the bagel in half crosswise, then set it up on the flat end to cut it lengthwise.

Many years ago I saw a gadget that would separate coffee filters. The filters get stuck together and I can't get them apart. Ideas? Is there anything more annoying than not having morning coffee for lack of a coffee filter? Thanks

I have arthritis in both hands. I need a tool to pull staples from papers and a pencil or pen to write with that doesn't hurt my hands. I use one or the other all day long at work and when I leave my hands are really aching.

Please let me know if you know of anything on the market that would be helpful.
Thank you,
Sue

I can no longer manage gas matches that are "child proof." In order to light candles, my stove burners, or my fireplace gas starter, I would need three hands (at least). I can manage a simple pistol-like mechanism but safety features make this impossible as two switches need to be operated simultaneously. I have no children at home. Can you recommend something? I would be much obliged.

There are times when my finger joints which includes the knuckle hurt so much that I can't concentrate on anything else. My finger joints are so knobby looking and distorted, that at times even touching them hurts. They are very stiff in the mornings, but I move them back and forth to get the stiffness out. My question is "is there anything that I can do to ease the pain. Also, is there anything that can be done to slow this arthritic progression." I can't take anything orally because I have stomach problems.
