Exercise as a Fatigue Treatment

Looking for a fatigue treatment for the weariness that can accompany rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune conditions such as lupus? Exercise can give you more energy.

Walking or riding your bike for 30 minutes to an hour at least three times a week can help you battle fatigue. A team of researchers at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, combed through 162 studies and concluded that doing aerobic exercise that gradually increases in intensity, length and frequency significantly reduced fatigue in people with autoimmune conditions.

Exercises that acted as a fatigue treatment included low-impact aerobic classes, walking, riding stationary or regular bicycles, jogging and swimming.
