I can't believe what has happened to me!
I have had RA and Sjorgrens for over 22 years. i was one of the 1st on Enbrel, it worked for me for about 15 years but then the infections started. I tried Infusions and still the bladder infections. My doctor put me on steriods 20mg a day, vicodin as many as i wanted - LOL. And Advil. Still had problems, my doc even got me a handicapped placard. SUCKS! I'm too young for this. 54.
Then i saw a friend of mine i hadn't seen in about a year. The last 3 times i saw her she looked like she was dying. She also has RA and Fibro. Anyway She looked fabulous! She said she drinks cannabis tea all day long and i should try it. Sooo i got my MMJ card and started about a week ago. Can't believe how i feel, no more vicodin, no more advil and only 1 steroid pill before bed. The tea doesn't make you loopy. Please you all need to check this out.

My brother has RA pretty bad. He is in constant pain. I wanted to know where we could take him to be evaluated and get better care than he is receiving now. He is 49 yrs old and lives in West Virginia. He is currently seeing a doctor but I don't think they are doing what is right for him They give him pain pills and thats about it. I want to take him somewhere anywhere to get him some help. He is real bad.

Thanks,

I have been on Humira 40 mg and Methotrexate for four or more years and have experienced repeated sinus infections and one bout of pneumonia. I have very little aches and pains and no stiffness. How will I know if any of the new drugs coming out will help me more?

kranthi lakshmi<<<<< I just want to say that I feel bad that you have RA at such a young age. I was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia, RLS when I turned 40 and it's 15 years of this now. My son, who is only 27, has been diagnosed with RA and I see that he suffers from pains and I feel for him as well. I've been taking meds after meds for 15 years now. They work for a few months and then they stop working so on to the next drug. This last time which was about 1 month ago, my rheumatologist prescribe Arava and I just got tired and decided to do something different and without this medication. I just started acupuncture and massages and I have to say it has been working for me. I do still take Clonazepam for my restless legs syndrome at bedtime, Tramadol and 800 mg of Motrin every six (6) hours for the chronic pain, but since I've been going to the acupuncturist and the massages, I've cut back on taking the Tramadol and Motrin. This isn't a cure all but for now it is helping my pains. I received a referral by my primary through Kaiser (you only have to do the co-pay for acupuncture). Also, I've really cut out red meats, hard to cut out breads and rice, but I am eating more fruits and vegetables (stay away from the night shade vegetables) and certain fruits. Coffee, sodas, alcoholic beverages are a no no... I still have my 1 cup in the AM but that's it. But you still need to move and I will say I like to start a yoga which seems to be helpful from what I hear. Best to you kranthi and I will pray for you. I know what is like to be in constant pain but hang in there.. oh do not be shy about asking for help around the house or at work!!

No more biologics for me. Embrel and Humara landed me in the hospital for two serious infections and surgeries. The 800mg of Ibuprofen has now started acute renal damage. The wonderful world of modern reumatoid wonders.
