How to Use the Drug Guide
The Arthritis Today Drug Guide gives you valuable and easy-to-understand information about medications used for arthritis and related conditions. Detail pages for each drug include common drug dosage ranges, potential side effects, special instructions and other essential information that leading arthritis experts say you should keep in mind.
Use this Drug Guide to help you become an active part of your health care team and to better communicate with your health care providers so that, together, you can find the most effective and safest treatment for you.
There are three different ways to search for drugs.
Search by Name
You can search by brand name (for example, Motrin) or by generic name (for example, ibuprofen). Enter the name of your medication in the search box. As you type, suggestions will come up. Choose one, or if you don’t see the drug you are looking for, click "Go" to get a complete list of medicines that match your search term.
Search by Class
Choose this option if you would like to see a list of all medications in a certain drug class. A drug class is a group of medicines that generally work in the same way (for example, analgesics or DMARDs) or treat the same condition (for example, gout).
Search by Condition
Choose this option if you would like to see a list of only the medications used to treat a certain type of arthritis or related condition, such as fibromyalgia or gout. Keep in mind, if you have more than one condition, you may need to perform more than one search to find information on all the relevant drugs.
